Gregory Chen, MD, PhD

Dr. Gregory Chen, MD, PhD completed his MD/PhD training in Genomics and Computational Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. During his graduate thesis work, he studied the determinants of CAR T-cell response and persistence using genomic, single-cell, and computational approaches. He subsequently joined the Clinical Pathology residency program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and will begin a fellowship in Transfusion Medicine in July 2026. His current work focuses on developing engineering approaches to improve the efficacy, safety, and controllability of CAR T-cell therapies. As a physician-scientist, Greg’s long-term goal is to develop next-generation cancer immunotherapies for solid and metastatic cancers.
