Putzer Hung, MD, PhD
Dr. Putzer Hung, MD, PhD received his ScB in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Brown University and his MD and PhD in Immunology from Washington University in St. Louis. As a graduate student, he worked in the laboratory of Dr. Barry Sleckman, studying the mechanisms of DNA double-strand break repair during non-homologous end joining. He completed his Internal Medicine residency through the Physician-Scientist Pathway at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania before starting his Hematology/Oncology fellowship in 2022. His clinical focus is on hematologic malignancies, and in 2023, he joined the laboratory of Dr. Vikram Paralkar to investigate the regulation of ribosome biogenesis in acute myeloid leukemia. His research aims to identify targetable biosynthetic pathways that contribute to leukemia fitness and drug resistance.
